What is the interview process?

Once a candidate applies, a recruiter will schedule a phone screen where a few key questions will be asked. The candidate will also be asked to submit their resume and clearances (see requirements below). The candidate will then be contacted by another Aspire representative to connect them with the school. Depending on the school, a virtual or in-person will be scheduled. The school must communicate with Aspire on their intention to move forward with the candidate. If the school would like to move forward with the candidate, an Aspire representative will communicate next steps in the onboarding process.

How can I prepare for my interview?

Use a Check List like the one below:

  • Have appropriate formal attire washed and ironed.
  • Get directions and make sure to account for traffic at the time of interview.
  • Use sample interview questions about your profession. Write down answers on notecards to study. If you’re interviewing for the first time, find popular questions for your field by searching online.
  • Research the school or organization you’re applying to. Find out some current happenings if you can and show interest.
  • Bring some ideas from previous experiences. Talk about implementing a new routine or technology and be able to explain why.
  • Organize a portfolio online. Especially for teachers, interviewees have been expected to bring binders of sample work to an interview. Now, interviewers don’t have all that time, so they prefer a simple display on an iPad or projector they can scroll through during the interview. It also helps to organize your files so you can quickly pull something up if it relates to a question being asked.
  • Practice mock interviewing with someone. Use the sample questions you’ve found and Practice, practice, practice.
  • Finally, be sure to get a good night of sleep in before your interview.
